MUS-116 Mozart: Music, Context, and Myth Making
In this course students study the life and music
of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Students gain a
detailed understanding of Mozart by viewing his
life through various perspectives, including
biographical studies, Mozart's letters, and
popular modern media. Students also learn to
assess source materials and are introduced to the
process of myth making. The course is designed
for non-musicians, but students with a background
in music will also benefit from taking the course.
