PHI-340 Environmental Philosophy

A critical examination of environmental philosophy and ethics. Topics may include: How do predominant ethical frameworks apply to animals and the environment? What type of beings or entities are morally considerable? How do our conceptions of human nature influence our treatment of animals and nature? How interconnected are the dominations of women, nature, colonized peoples, and other marginalized groups? What is environmental justice? What can be done about environmental racism?
