Welcome from the Academic Vice President and Dean of Undergraduate Studies
Welcome to the Catalog for the 2026-27 Academic Year
Earning your degree at The College of Idaho will open doors—expanding your networks, boosting your career options and earning power, and cultivating your understanding of yourself and the world around you. For 135 years, since opening its doors in 1891, The College of Idaho has challenged our students to think big, aim high, and make a difference. Generations of graduates have gone on to build successful careers, lead in their communities, and create meaningful and fulfilling lives. You are now part of that story.
This catalog is your guide to these opportunities. It outlines the curriculum and policies and encourages you to explore new ideas, discover your purpose, and develop as a scholar, athlete, artist, entrepreneur, thinker, and person.
Higher education leads to more opportunity. It always has and it always will, and The College of Idaho is in a unique position to help you leverage this experience for greater success. There are countless incredible programs and possibilities here, but three defining themes will shape your college experience as a Coyote.
First, your education will be transformative. Here you will explore a variety of subjects broadly and you will sustain a deeper exploration in one or more specific fields. Our DO MORE IN 4 curriculum gives you freedom to chart your own path, gain real world experience, take part in high impact practices, and earn two degrees in four years.
Second, we are a community. College is more than the classes you take—it is the shared environment you help create. At The College of Idaho, you have numerous opportunities to join organizations, enjoy trips and events, and engage with each other. The confidence, resilience, and innovation you will gain through these connections will serve you in the classroom and in your personal and professional life.
Third, we believe in stewardship. We are committed to supporting one another, caring for our environment, and using our resources wisely. We challenge ourselves to think beyond the present moment and to consider the communities we inhabit today as well as the generations who will follow. Just as you will support others, you will be surrounded by a network of classmates, faculty, staff, alumni, and mentors who will support you.
Throughout your College of Idaho experience, I hope you will remind yourself to embrace opportunities, ask bold questions, and stay open to discovery.
Welcome to the Yote community. Your adventure starts now!
