Accounting Major (B.S.)

The Accounting degree program equips students with the financial, analytical, and business skills needed to succeed in a dynamic global economy. Coursework in Financial and Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Business Law, and related disciplines provides a strong foundation in accounting principles and business operations. Students gain practical experience through accounting information systems, data analytics, and a capstone project that integrates classroom learning with real-world applications. Graduates are prepared for careers in corporate accounting, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, and other industries where accounting expertise is essential for organizational success.

Although the major is open to all undergraduate students, it is a requirement for students pursuing the 3+1 program for the Master of Accountancy degree (MAcc). Students planning to enroll in the 3+1 program must take the 5000- and 6000-level ACCT course options during their senior year, after acceptance into the program.
